Summary: ToneFit collects minimal data needed to provide our guitar tone matching service. We never sell your personal information. You can delete your account and data at any time.
1 Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create a ToneFit account, we collect:
- Email address and name (when signing up via email or Google)
- Profile picture (if signing in via Google)
- Password (stored as a secure hash — never plain text)
Gear & Usage Data
- Your saved guitar, amp, pedal, and effects unit selections
- Songs you've researched and saved tone settings
- Your gear presets created during onboarding
- Subscription plan and payment status
Automatically Collected Data
- IP address and approximate location
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited and features used within ToneFit
2 How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the ToneFit service
- Personalize tone recommendations based on your gear setup
- Process your subscription and manage billing
- Send important account notifications and service updates
- Respond to your support requests and feedback
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
We do not use your data for targeted advertising or sell it to third parties.
3 Data Storage & Security
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — never stored in plain text
- Database access is restricted to authorized systems only
- We use Supabase (PostgreSQL) hosted on AWS for data storage
4 Cookies & Tracking
ToneFit uses essential cookies to keep you logged in, remember your gear preferences, and maintain your subscription status. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
5 Third-Party Services
- Google OAuth — for sign-in
- Anthropic Claude API — powers tone research
- Paddle — payment processing
- Vercel — website hosting
- Supabase — database and authentication
- iTunes Search API — song search autocomplete
6 Your Rights
- Access — Request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Correction — Update or correct inaccurate personal information
- Deletion — Delete your account and all associated data permanently
- Export — Download your saved tones and gear data
- Opt-out — Unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time

7 Children's Privacy
ToneFit is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Contact us at contact@tonefit.com if you believe a child has provided us with data.
8 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top and notify registered users by email for significant changes.
